Unraveled Wednesday

My knitting is slow going so not much to share – fortunately no unraveling. But lately I have found myself looking at sewing blogs and Instagram feeds. Sewing was my first fiber love. I made a red corduroy jumper when I was just 6 (with a lot of help from my mom). I started another tunic this weekend and found some lovely, pumpkin corduroy for a simple dress. Then I came upon some posts about this fun jacket and decided to add it to my queue. I will need to go fabric shopping but isn’t it a fun project? There is even a sew along!

Anyone want to join me?

Happy Wednesday.

  1. That is a wonderful jacket! Pumpkin corduroy reminds me of one of my favorite jumpers my grandmother sewed for me. I can distinctly remember the plush feel of it and how good it made me feel wearing it in the fall.

  2. i attended sewing classes when i was a teenager. love it, i made lots of closes for me and friends, but with the time i let it go. this jacket model is lovely.

  3. Corduroy jumpers – my grandmother made them for my sister and I. Then she taught us to sew. I need to get back into garment sewing.

  4. I’ve not done any serious sewing for ages, but I do have some quilts to finish as well as a couple of Christmas stocking. Where is your favorite place to buy fabric?

  5. This jacket is definitely in my queue … I’m having a great time following the sew-along on Jen’s blog and IG feed. I certainly don’t have the sewing – or hand-stitching!! – skills yet – but #goals! and all that aside – you most definitely DO have the skills – and the perfect climate to enjoy the jacket. Can’t wait to see what you create!
