I knew the weather was getting to me but I had no idea how deeply it had seeped into my bones until I opened the curtains and looked out at a city bathed in sunshine. As I stepped into my sandals, I felt rest replacing the weariness of snow shovels and wool socks.

San Antonio has this amazing river walk that seems to go on forever. One direction took us past art venues and to a lovely coffee shop where I had a very good matcha tea latte. The next day we walked in the opposite direction where the trail led to another arts center and a brewery that served brisket tacos. I have never had bbq sauce on a taco!

Back in town we visited another museum with an amazing exhibit, explored The Alamo and a cathedral, did some window shopping, and found another fun coffee shop serving Tumeric lattes.

All too soon it was time to return home where the snow has not yet melted. I put away my sandals and sunscreen but the rest has renewed me enough to tackle the cold again.

Don’t forget to come back next Tuesday to share how your WORD has been showing up this month.

  1. What a perfect get-away for you! It’s been years since I went to San Antonio – the River Walk is a fun area. Glad you enjoyed it so much.

  2. I love San Antonio! It has such a great vibe — and the best Tex-Mex food ever!!! So glad you were able to spend some time in a sunny place. XO

  3. ahhh… sandals and sunshine! I’m so glad you had a good REST and brought some of it back home with you! (I told Marc this morning that I wished we could just hop on a plane and go someplace warm and sunny … I had a Caribbean beach in mind, but Austin is closer 😉
