30 days of thankful #23

I am so thankful that making things is a part of my life. My grandmothers were knitters, my mother love to sew. My dad made mosaic tile table tops and did rug hooking. My husband, daughters, and their husband make music. Today I spent time with friends who quilt and stitch. So many lovely makers in my life.

A few weeks ago we went to hear Melanie Falick talk about her new book and the importance of making. I just got the ebook from my library and look forward to reading and gleaning.

  1. oh what a treat – I had no idea Melanie was still writing books!
I paused on #5 of my Friday gratitude list – I’d written “making time” and was delighted to see the double meaning … time to make (which is what prompted that writing) and making time for _____. I so love that “time to make” and “making time” have that double meaning!
