30 days of thankful 2020 – #12

I am thankful for the way humor and laughter show up in my life. Under one of superintendent we had guiding principles for our admin meetings. Welcome laughter was on that list.

My husband makes me laugh many times each day. Our grandson contributes much humor to our lives, sometimes just being silly but often just the clash of curiosity and perception and being almost four. And our daughters both have a keen sense of humor. I am grateful that they share this with me in our text threads.

Then there is this house in our neighborhood. When we started our stay at home life, they put out a white board with a daily funny. When I walked past the other day, I noticed that they have built a frame for their board. I appreciate their commitment to sharing these daily hits of humor.

Think I will link up with Carole today. Be sure to visit.

  1. I love that this family decided to help their neighbors get through this pandemic with a smile! We have a neighbor a few streets away who was putting out inspirational quotes for a while. Though those seem to have stopped, they still have a container of doggy doo-doo bags on their front step for whoever needs them!

  2. What a gift your neighbors give! I love that! What a commitment to community, right there. (And their garden is a delight, too.) We have a neighbor who’s an avid sewer. She makes and bags masks and hangs them on a sign near the sidewalk. It’s nice to see some folks are keeping this up!

  3. Laughter is the best medicine for sure! I’ve always told Hannah, marry a man who makes you laugh. That’s certainly what I did and I’m so grateful for it.

  4. What a wonderful gift for your neighborhood! I just love that whiteboard! πŸ™‚
We have one family on my walking route that posts a trivia question once a week. It’s been a fun diversion, for sure. And you are absolutely right . . . what would we do – where we would we BE – without humor! XO

  5. Ha! Thanks for passing along the laughs from the whiteboard in your neighborhood. Now I want to do that! One of the things I love most about my hubby is that he makes me laugh. We both have the same sense of humor and he “gets” me!

  6. That’s made me smile! I wonder if your neighbours know that they’re not only reaching the people passing by, but others right across the world too!
