Hello Friday

I am in my happy place, stitching away with a cup of coffee, catching up on podcasts and IG live, and feeling quite grateful for the bit of sun that is streaming through the window.

It has been another week of sadness and dismay. Another week full of reminders of the privileged life I lead. Another week of paying attention and listening and not inserting myself into the conversation. (If you are interested, I recommend Austin Channing Brown’s IG Live for the beginning of a new series of conversations.)

Hello Friday. Hello Spring. Hello opportunities to learn and listen and grow.

  1. It’s been a week, hasn’t it? Thank you for recommending Austin Channing Brown’s IG feed. I very much enjoyed her book, so I will make some time to check it out this weekend.

  2. thank you for the suggestion of ACB’s conversation – I haven’t watched yet but I will … our Presbytery has some events planned and – just like me watching ACB – I feel like they’ll be preaching to the choir. ugh. How do we break out and actually affect change?! ALSO, your quilt top is amazing. and I look forward to seeing it become a quilt!

  3. Such pretty fabrics in your quilt – and the one your mug is on is a perfect match … LIstening and understanding is key, isn’t it. And yet, action must follow close behind to effect change … We won’t ever really understand everyone’s lived experience, but can still stand in solidarity and campaign for justice for them?
